Xiaomi has launched three new smartphones in the Indian market – Mi 3, Redmi 1S and Redmi Note at Rs 13,999, Rs 6,999 and Rs 9,999.The phones will be exclusively available on ecommerce retailer Flipkart. While the Mi 3 will go on sale starting July 22, the two Redmi phones will be available in August.Xiaomi Mi 3 has a 5-inch Full HD display and runs on a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB RAM. It is powered by Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Xiaomi’s proprietary MIUI skin on top. It packs 16GB internal storage.

Google on Wednesday announced it is working on a low-cost smartphone aimed at emerging markets as part of an initiative called Android One.

The makers of Atchayam Foodbox, as the machine is called, claim that it is a first of its kind concept in the food and retail industry and insist it’s not a vending machine.“This is like an ATM where you withdraw cash by yourself,” says Satish Chamy Velumani, a first generation entrepreneur from Coimbatore who is also the founder and CEO.

The Foodbox serves everything from snacks to complete meals from popular restaurants in the city. These include Adyar Ananda Bhavan, Aasife and Brothers Biriyani, Moti Mahal, Amaravathi, Kaaraikudi and Mr Chows .

A dosa that costs Rs 30-40 in Bangalore costs about Rs 150 in New Delhi due to the lack of standardisation and absence of manpower. Two foodies, Eshwar Vikas and Sudeep Sabat  decided to take this as a challenge and come up with a machine that could make dosas without human intervention. a mechanic in Chennai who never  went to college gave all the techniques and formulae to achieve  it. After that they participated in a startup contest called VenturaFest in Chennai in June 2012 calling themselves Mukunda Foods and won the best business plan award.

Nokia has unveiled its first three Android smartphones after several turbulent years that saw the Finnish manufacturer lose its top spot in the mobile market as Google’s free OS became the biggest mobile software in the world.All three Android phones by Nokia – X, X+ and XL – run on a ‘customized’ version of Android operating system and will not have access to Play Store. Nokia XL, the biggest of the three new smartphones, has a 5-inch screen, 768MB RAM, 5MP auto-focus camera with LED flash on the back and 2MP front camera and costs 109 euros.
