Microsoft had revealed that a new version of its software won’t run on the existing Lumia range, which belongs to Nokia.Microsoft was looking at making its own phones in direct competition with Nokia even though Nokia’s Lumia series runs on windows.

Nokia has been outsmarted  in a smartphone segment by Apple and Samsung and other phones running on Android. Nokia’s chief executive Stephen Elop had announced closure of Nokia’s long time manufacturing unit located in  Salo,  Finland .

Nokia accounted for around 4 percent of Finnish GDP long ago.

If Nokia want to make a comeback

1)It has to develop a OS with opensource software.

2)It has to differentiate itself with quality, price, and applications in low end market phones in Asia as  it has huge potential.
